- Making it easier for the uninsured to sign up for coverage under the Affordable Care Act
- Expanding Medicaid enrollment for those who need it the most
- Generating outreach campaigns to boost enrollment among vulnerable populations
- Providing businesses the tools to keep premiums affordable while providing the best possible coverage for their employees
- Improving access to preventive services so our communities remain healthier
- Requiring insurers meet minimum standards of coverage
- Increasing the quality of care by reducing medical errors and prioritizing patient safety

- Voting to eliminate copayments for contraceptives
- Supporting the funding of family planning services like Planned Parenthood if the federal government defunded these programs
- Working to reduce the use of antibiotics in animal feed in order to preserve antibiotics for human use
- Empowering the Maryland Attorney General to sue pharmaceutical companies that engaged in price gouging
- Supporting the expansion of telemedicine programs for addiction treatment
- Sponsoring legislation that successfully banned the sale of powdered alcohol
